Why it's suddenly being legalized in America and elsewhere?

We’ve just discovered what they knew 80 years ago and also what we knew in Jesus’ time (kaneh-bosm) that marijuana is an excellent herbal (not a drug) remedy for pain, mental illness, sleep aid and addiction recovery.
We also discovered that alcohol kills thousands each year and pot kills, well, zero. And we know there is nothing wrong with alcohol . . .
We know that the war on drugs (which the government believes pot is - one of the worse because it is a schedule one drug) was a total disaster costing the tax payer several billions.

The politicians spread so many lies about it because: they couldn’t tax it (one could grow their own); it was cutting into pharmaceutical, paper, timber, fabric and alcohol taxation profits; and it was a tool to eradicate blacks, Mexicans and liberals.
Today, mom’s, politicians and the media still beleive all the lies about it being the worse of the worse, a gateway “drug” and will make you go insane-lose your mind and kill people in murderous rampages. You can’t blame them for being greedy, stupid and lemmings. We can VOTE THEM OUT though.
So, the gov’mendt knows everything we think we know about it is a lie, it is costing us billions, everyone does it, people are demanding it, and it is a cash cow because states that have legalized it FOR PURCHASE are making billions in tax revenue. It is still illegal federally. They have to find a way to keep you from growing your own because they can’t tax that.
Thank’s Harry Anslinger and other politicians. You’ve destroyed millions of lives and cost the tax payer billions. Thanks politicians of today. Your ignorance, fear and greed are still destroying millions of lives and costing the tax payer billions but, we’ve begun to rise up.
If anything is a sign of that, look no further than the unlikely win of Trump for the presidency. Not that he is for the devil drug becoming legal but he knows it is worth hundreds of billions and being a businessman . . .
