Cannabis oil and ovarian cancer

Using cannabis oil as a means to treat or cure cancer is a topic of much online debate and the internet is full of people claiming that it has effectively helped to cure their cancer. We take a closer look at the evidence behind these claims.

The cannabis plant yields a resin that contains various substances, including cannabinoids, which may have medicinal value. Cannabis oil has been shown to kill cancer cells in the laboratory and there are currently many research projects worldwide exploring whether its properties could be harnessed to help stem the growth of malignant tumours. Several of these investigations are summarised in this Nature Reviews Cancer report.

Though, while many of these comparisons show exciting early promise, killing cancer cells in a laboratory is far simpler than killing cancer cells in the human body. Until a cancer treatment has gone through the full stages of testing in animals and people, we cannot be certain that it works. Decades of cancer research has shown that cancer is an incredibly complex and varied disease that varies from person to person and tumour to tumour. As a result, any claim that there could be a single cure for all cancers should be treated with a healthy dose of scepticism.

Scientific research needs strong evidence; important for deciding whether or not or not a possible cancer treatment is truly safe and effective. Publishing this data then allows health organisations and medical professionals to judge the information for themselves and use it for the benefit and safety of their patients.

Although some varieties of low-concentrate cannabis oil ar offered to shop for for medical functions in British pharmacies, cannabis itself is classified as a class B drug in the UK, meaning that it’s illegal to possess or supply it. This includes cannabis oil with a proportion of psychoactive substance more than zero.05%
Cannabis oil makes some people feel confused, anxious or paranoid. It may also have an effect on memory, make you feel faint and sick or sleepy and lethargic.

Some researches have demonstrated that cannabinoids can have the opposite effect, encouraging cancer cells to grow.

As a research-based organisation, it's of predominant importance that there's reliable scientific proof to support claims created regarding any cancer treatment, as lives are at stake. While it’s tempting to think that a cancer patient has nothing to lose by trying an alternative treatment, in fact, there are big risks.

The Extraordinary Properties of Rick Simpson Oil

In 2008, RSO creator Rick Simpson revealed a documentary entitled Run From The Cure, which recounted his experience and discovery of how cannabis could treat cancer with concentrated cannabis oil (aka RSO). Since then, many Cannabis oil patients have used the oil to treat cancer. It is all anecdotes, and anecdotes are not science, but due to the hostility of the U.S. government by making it illegal to do research on cannabis, a scientific inquiry into the purported cancer curative potential of cannabis has never been undertaken. Nevertheless, there is a peer-reviewed scientific study recommending that cannabis be an effective anti-cancer agent. Published in the Journal of Cannabis Research 2004 by Dr Manuel Guzman of the Complutense University of Madrid in Spain, he found that tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) inhibited the development of brain tumours in laboratory mice. Additionally, in 2006, Dr. Donald Tashkin from the David Geffen School of Medicine at University of California, Los
