Cancer is a word that has been on everyone's mouth in the current world. In fact, cancer is killing more people in the world than TB, Malaria and HIV/AIDS combined according to recent medical research.
Today I want to talk about how nutrition comes into play in the fight against cancer. For many people in Africa, a regular meal is not a guarantee they have and as such, people tend to take what is available.
Lack of proper nutrition and Food shortage has created a new frontier in most urban centers in the world; urban farming. While this goes a long way to alleviate the problem of malnutrition, it has come with its challenges;dubious methods are being employed in rearing of birds and animals and the production of vegetables.
Today , people are using unsafe chemicals and antibiotics in an unregulated way and all these chemicals find their way to plates; yes,what is found in most plates in urban households is a concoction of chemicals that are poisonous; heavy metals like led and Mercury from industrial waste finds its way into the water ways and this water is in turn used to irrigate vegetables.
Our bodies need vegetables and most herbs and planets have medicinal value;have we ever bothered to undertake studies on the medical benefits of marijuana? This plant has been found to have medicinal value and this is where Rick Simpson oil, a cancer remedy comes to our rescue
The big question is: Where is the world's pharmaceutical giants in this fight against cancer? China is known for its adherence to traditional medicine, could this alternative to conventional medicine be our way out?....me thinks so;this is a war and when a society is faced with a war,there is always a need to relook at the moral code in order to survive. War revolutionises people's thinking because the alternative is to embrace extinction and that is never an option.
